So, I think I've pretty much finished packing everything. It was quite an ordeal, I can tell you! When I get back from Oxford, I only have three days until I need to be at Brooks, so I was packing not only for the trip, but also for the fall. I never realized how much stuff I have, lol! I kept reprimanding myself for taking too many things, and then I'd be like, "Oh, wait. You're gonna be there for 6 weeks. Ok, I guess this much stuff isn't unreasonable."
Last night before I went to bed, I started to get those pre-trip, anxious feelings that one always gets before leaving for a long trip. It's silly; you'd think with the amount of overseas traveling, or even continental traveling, I've done, it wouldn't be a problem any more... I think part of it might be the length of this trip. The longest overseas trip I've been on to-date was three weeks, and this is almost double that! However, I think meeting up with people periodically throughout the month-and-a-half will help: Amber in London, Becca the following weekend, Tyler in Paris, Dr. Henry in Oxford, and my godparents at the end. I think that's a wide enough variety of amazing people to keep me from getting too homesick, lol!
Well, I think that's it! At Justin's suggestion, my family and I are going to Uncle Julio's tonight, because I probably won't be getting good Tex-Mex for a while. Then tomorrow, I'm off! Write back soon. :)
I second Tex-Mex. Been seriously missing that one for a long time...
