What are the things in life that make me smile? I can tell you one of them. Girls' Night at the front desk. Yes, while I may "technically" be working, there's nothing to stop Elisha, Amber, and I from painting our nails black (with awesome blue sparkles!!!) and dancing to Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA" and Demi Lovato's "Lala Land". I think poor Alex may have felt a bit out numbered, but he was a terribly good sport about it. He even learned the art of fixing nail polish, lol. Before she left, Amber and I even had a crazy, jumping dance-off to the "blah, blah, blahs" from Spring Awakening. (Don't worry, we listened to the editted version for the Tony's. No, I wasn't going to play a song that screams the f-word at the front desk, lol.)
I love the way having black nails feels. I don't quite know how to explain it. It makes me feel edgier, maybe a little bit more put together. Tomorrow is Invitation to Excellence. At first, I thought of this as a possible reason not to paint my nails tonight, but then I thought of how fun it would have been to have a small group leader who was wearing a cardigan and discussing the concept of memento mori, but who also had black nails. Fun!
Someone is cooking something in the kitchen that smells really good. They're all freshmen that I don't know, however, so the likelihood of my getting to sample that whatever-it-is is very slight, lol. Oh, well.
Alrighty, well, I think that's it. I just remembered that I have Pygmalion with me, which is infinitely more fun to work on than my term paper for Dr. Wood... Adios! :-)
